Mother Theresa firmly believes that only education improves the quality of life of the people. With the aspiration of teaching & bringing social empowerment and economic upliftment through education and technical trainings, self-help groups & cooperative movements.
The trust began working in Dharavi (Asia's Largest Slum) since 2000 with the aim of educating the underprivileged children and improving the quality of life of marginalized population by providing them a better education and other need base services.
Mother Theresa Trust was registered under Bombay Public Trust Act,1950 in 21st January 2008.
Mother Theresa charitable trust started the school with 30 children in the pre-school and now there are above 400 children studying in the school.
Mother Theresa trust holds medical camps once in a month which comprises Eye check up and General medical camp. During medical camps medicine and glasses (spectacles) were dispensed. Around 1000 people had been accessed the services and 400 people are in regular follow up.
Mother Theresa trust has trained more than 200 women by providing them a vocational trainings. Through the course 6 of our beneficiaries have opened their own beauty parlor shops and 14 women have been taking orders of Mehendi, through the income they are making their living better. During Diwali festival 20 are regularly do Knitting and make woolen dish cover and (Thoran) the designed garland which put up on the door. By selling their artificial products they raise their income and also making their living more better and comfortable.
