The school has been started in the year of 2003 with the students of 30 (Thirty) and stepped towards to run a proper school. Eventually the school was going on process and more than 400 (hundred) children are studying in Mother Theresa School. Which is a great impact of the trust. Mother Theresa Trust strongly believes that education is the only a weapon which could change people’s quality of life. It has been taking a challenge and took an initiative to work with marginalized population those who are unable to accesses the services, with this similar aspiration and mission Mother Theresa trust began to work…
As the tentative Indian data refers that out of the 100 % population 60 % percentage are women and children and rest are the men and others. As the women did not give the attention and care towards their health which results in cause of disease and which may lead their infant and children weak too. It has been over looking the need base of such needy and marginalized population who could not accesses the services and facility. The trust brought the service for them in their own locality in collaboration with Lotus eye hospital and also arranged the general medical camps with an Ngo called Ojus Medical Institute. Whereas the Ngo’s come once in a month and provide their services at Mother Theresa trust in Dharavi (Asia's Largest Slum). More than 2000 local people had been accessed the services in these 2 years. The aim to run a medical camps to improve the quality of people’s life, through the trust as every one getting the facility and services which they unable to access. Also, the trust has been trying to reach out more people to take an opportunity by rendering the services.
The purpose behind the initiative is to empower marginalized women and support them to become economically independent and change their lives to create a better for themselves & their families in urban areas.
Mother Theresa trust has been started the vocational training program for women whereas they come and learn the courses provided in the centre. Especially for the women those are in the below poverty line (BPL). The purpose behind of providing the vocational training is basically to empower the women to sustain themselves. The courses are rendering by the volunteers who are professionals and trainer who come and provide the services. The courses provided at Mother Theresa centre are Mehendi, Beauty parlor, Knitting , Embroidery, soft toys making and cookery class etc. Being a Mother Theresa trust a young ngo unable to reach out as many women. Despite, nearly 300 women were accessed our services. Although being a small team the trust had been constantly networking with other ngo’s. Finally the effort brought the fruit the ngo called Vilasbhau Rupvate Pratishtan which is located in Ghatkopar in central Mumbai. We tied up more than 200 (hundred) women with Niradhar Mahila Sangatna a scheme for widow where they provide Rs. 2000 and nutritional support every month.
As we know the innumerable dedication of Mother Teresa towards the needy & poor, for whom she sacred her life for them to bring a smile on their face. Since, as the ngo entitled with Mother Theresa trust people are approaching for a shelter where they could to be take in. Specially the approaches are coming up by the old women and physically challenged who are lonesome and loneliness and chucked out by their family. Mother Theresa trust has been stepped forward to establish the day and night shelter for the old age people in Dharavi (Asia's Largest Slum). Which is very vital to be opened, since Dharavi (Asia's Largest Slum) is formerly known as Asia’s biggest slum area and many migrant also living here. Their lives have been apathetic condition where they had started their lives they end their too. Since being in a poor & illiterate couldn’t look up in their life & it’s very essential to open a shelter for a needy people. The trust has taken an initiative to open a peace, love & care centre for old people. Where the old people will be looking after by trust.
“The approaching may bring tears in your eyes but that is fact “ She asked me will you be also tell me to get out of the shelter as her son did “ By ensuring them that this is their house and no one will throw them out.
